Band: Art Brut
Gear: SVT-810E, SVT-2PRO, SVT-410HLF
Formed in 2003, British alternative indie band Art Brut wasted little time in spreading their brand of cheeky pop/punk. Within weeks of becoming a group, they were playing gigs and recording singles full of self-admittedly poorly sung punk, which became the band’s calling card. More smartass than arrogant, Art Brut was named the “Best Unsigned Band of 2004″ byBlender magazine.
Bang Bang Rock & Roll, the band’s debut album, might recall the lighter side of the Sex Pistols (more spit, less snot), but Freddy (Frederica) Feedback’s quirky bass complements the band’s springy chord bashing like a skinny tie to a black suit. Elements of ska, punk, thrash and even grunge are filtered through her Rickenbacher, outlining what the band does best: making fun music and fun of themselves.
