After Roberto’s brother (a guitarist) gave him his first bass at age nine, this started his rise to become an accomplished player, composer and producer.
At the young age of seventeen, he started working as a session man and played with artists like: Paolo Conte, Luca Carboni, Eugenio Finardi, 883, Patty Pravo, Bruno Lauzi and Marco Ferradini.
Since 1991, Roberto has been a member of the band “Stadio”, after Gaetano Curreri and John Pezzoli, looking for a bass player, saw him playing at a concert in Acireale. With them, he has recorded numerous albums, toured extensively in Italy and Europe and taken part to a myriad of live televised events like the “famous” Sanremo.
In addition to Stadio, he has played live and in studio with great musicians like Vinnie Colaiuta, Ray Mantilla, Paolo Fresu, The Solis String Quartet, Lucio Dalla, Eddie Martinez. Also a successful composer, he wrote Irene Grandi’s hit “Prima di partire per un lungo viaggio”with Gaetano Curreri and Vasco Rossi.
Thanks to his playing style, a mix of Pop, Rock, Funk, and to his Ampeg System, Roberto has an enchanting and deep sound that melds perfectly with the other members of Stadio: a band that’s been one of the most loved in the Italian scene for the last three decades.
