My first Bass amp was a 60's Ampeg B-18N. I traded it and my first Bass, Gibson Ripper, to get a '72 Rickenbacker 4001. My B-15R & B-15E are both "Serial #1". I purchased them, in two separate purchases, in 2006. First I ran into the B-15E at a store in Richland WA. It was still new, only used as a rental. Then the B-15R came to me from Guitar Center in Eugene OR. as an in-store transfer, from the East Coast. It was also still new.
I wanted an Amp to match the quality and mystique of my 1972 Rickebacker 4001 and my 1990 Alembic Persuader. My Ampeg B-15R 2-15 Stack has done that better than any other Bass Amp I could imagine!
