Ampeg Introduces New Products To European Audience at Musikmesse

St. Louis, MO— April 6, 2006: Ampeg, the industry standard in bass amplification for more than 50 years, debuted a variety of new products for the first time in Europe last week at the 2006 Musikmesse Convention in Frankfurt, Germany.

B200R Bass Amp Combo
The new B200R draws upon the legacy of the famous Ampeg Portaflex “Flip Top” from the 1960s and takes this successful combination to the next level by adding a 12AU7 preamp tube for additional warmth, as well as balanced XLR output with level control and 220 watts of power driving a custom-designed 15-inch Eminence driver. In addition to the tube and power increase, Ampeg has also equipped the B200R with a Piezo high-frequency component for additional punch and tonal clarity at the upper end. The new B200R features four bands of EQ, plus Ultra Low, Ultra Mid, and Ultra High switches for fine-tuning your sound.

BA115T and BA115HPT Bass Amp Series Combos
The new BA115T and BA115HPT have all of the professional features of other Ampeg Bass Amp Series Combos, with the addition of a 12AU7 tube integrated into the preamp circuit. The BA115T features 100 watts of power, a 15-inch driver, and a Piezo high-frequency component for additional punch and tonal clarity at the upper end. The BA115HPT ups the power ante to 220 watts and incorporates a 1-inch compression driver in place of the Piezo transducer. In addition, the BA115HT adds dedicated input and master gain controls as well as CD input and Mute Switch. Both combos incorporate line out, 3-band EQ, Style control, and padded input options into a robust, tilt-back enclosure—making them ideal for stage, studio, or even the bedroom.

Dan Armstrong Reissue Guitar
Ampeg is reissuing the Ampeg Dan Armstrong acrylic guitar which features a completely unique body made of an eye-catching clear Plexiglas material that eliminates unwanted vibrations and frequencies, while producing tremendous sustain. The Ampeg Dan Armstrong guitar also features a removable pickup system that allows users to choose between two different hand-made pickups—the faithfully recreated Rock Treble pickup and a new dual blade Rock Sustain pickup.

SVT12HE Bass
New from Ampeg for 2006 is the SVT12HE, a high-output bass enclosure that brings Ampeg’s signature tone and power to the stage or rehearsal space in a compact and portable footprint. Delivering 300 watts RMS of power handling and 123dB of SPL thanks to a front ported baffle and custom-designed 12-inch driver, the SVT12HE weighs in at 46 pounds and measures only 165 x 21 x 16 inches (H x W x D).

SVT8Pro
The new SVT8Pro combines a vintage SVT preamp, complete with two 12AX7 and two 12AU7 tubes, with a powerful 2500-watt switch-mode Class D amplifier into an amazingly lightweight 23-pound package. As a result, the compact two-rack-space SVT8Pro delivers more power per pound than any other SVT Pro Series head.

Like all SVT Pro Series heads, the SVT8Pro’s front panel controls include Mute, and expanded EQ section for fine-tuning. In addition, the SVT8Pro also features a unique power amp emulation circuit that allows users to dial in the signature “growl” of an overdriven tube amp, but at any volume and with varying intensity.

SVTVR
For 2006, Ampeg is reaching into its illustrious past to offer the SVT-VR, a vintage reissue of the highly sought after 1970’s “blue-line” SVT head. With the new SVT-VR, the Ampeg engineering and product development teams had one primary goal—get as close to the coveted tone of the “classic” SVT as possible. As a result, the preamp stage, power section, and even the rocker switches of the new SVT-VR emulate the exact signal path, tone, and vibe of the original rock ‘n’ roll workhorse.

The all tube SVT-VR amplifier is driven by a total of six 6550 power tubes for massive power and tone. In addition to the 70’s style dials and rocker switches, the SVT-VR’s preamp circuitry has been faithfully recreated to match the original. Even the classic blue graphics are there—affirming Ampeg’s commitment to the amp’s legacy.
