This month marks the start up of Little Steven Van Zandt’s Underground Garage’s Rolling Rock and Roll Show!

Little Steven’s Garage Radio Show kicked off in April of 2002 across 20 FM radio stations across America. The concept of the 2-hour show was simple – to play music he liked and that no one else was playing! Currently, the show has its own Sirius Satellite station (on channel 25), and is heard across 143 radio stations with an audience of 1.2 million listeners.

Steven hosted his first International Underground Garage festival in August 2004 in New York City, with an audience of 16,000. The music was provided by Iggy and the Stooges, The New York Dolls, The Strokes, The Pretty Things, The Romantics, The Raveonettes, Bo Diddley and about 35 other bands crossing five decades of rock and roll.

This year’s tour carries the concept to 60 stops across the country. With regular live events being staged for the likes of the Hard Rock Café’s and Casino Chain the concept was born to do a tour, in typical Steven fashion – like no other tour!
The Concept is to keep "Underground Garage" alive in peoples minds as long as possible – a show may come and go – but a show that comes, then comes back, then comes back again is even better. For an initial period of 3 months – Little Steven’s Underground Garage will host an event the same night every month in each of 20 chosen cities across the US. The plan for 2007 is to have this tour concept running continuously for 12 months back to back. The venues chosen will be of a 600–1200 capacity to ensure sold out shows and a cool vibe. Each month will feature 5 bands, Emcee, Go Go Dancers, 60’s B-Movies, Underground Garage stage set and more in a 3.5 hour continuous show to create the ultimate Underground Garage experience. The tour's main sponsor is Rolling Rock Beer, hence the title "Little Steven’s Underground Garage Rolling Rock and Roll Show".

Of course when Ampeg heard of this awesome opportunity, a sponsorship was born! At every stop on the tour, you will see two SVT-1000 bass heads, and two SVT-810E cabs, big as life on the stage. Check out the poster with the cool Ampeg logo on the bottom, for a list of some of the bands appearing. This is definitely the show to catch to wind up this summer’s touring season!
