Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu is a founding member of the metal band, Korn. The only left-handed person in the band, Fieldy plays the bass right-handed, characterized by his hip-hop influenced styles of double-popping, palm muting and slapping.
Chosen bassist of the year in the Metal Hammer’s 2005 Readers Poll, Fieldy and Korn are said to have inspired the flood of nu-metal/rap metal bands in the mid ‘90s and early 2000s (Fieldy is also credited as discovering multi-platinum rap metal thrashers, Limp Bizkit). Since 1994, Korn have sold over 25 million albums worldwide, making them one of the best-selling metal acts of the last twelve years.
Fieldy released a solo album in 2002 called Rock ‘N Roll Gangster, assembled a rap side project called Fieldy’s Dreams, and is currently working on his second solo effort.
